KS12 is excited to participate in day 2 of the Cognitive Cities Conference, organized by our friends at Third Wave and Your Neighbours. We’ll be conducting a workshop in the betahaus from 2-4pm in Dialog3 as part of the ongoing production process for our new project People in Beta.
Participate in making a documentary about coworking in the betahaus! Learn techniques for telling stories using social media and get feedback on your storytelling skills from an audience of your peers. In this workshop, we’ll tell stories and engage in a group critique about the formal and narrative aspects of them. We’ll then discuss some of the questions raised about coworking on Quora and interview you about coworking! Bring a laptop, camera, and USB stick. Join the conversation on Twitter: #peopleinbeta.
Here’s one of the interviews we’ve conducted so far with Christoph Fahle, founder of betahaus:

In the last year, we’ve been making increasingly frequent use of Skype to conduct video interviews. Skype is a great tool to reach out to a broader range of participants in an interview-based process, allowing contact with people all over the world. Not only does it save on costs (travel, accommodations, etc) it means even smaller projects can have global reach in sourcing their content. Here are some tips we’ve found useful to pass on to interviewees when using Skype in a production:
What are the defining aesthetics of art in the networked era? How is mass collaboration changing notions of ownership of art? How does micro-patronage change the way artists produce and distribute artwork? “The Future of Art” begins a conversation on these topics and invites your participation.
